It is our intent to highlight the detriments that represents our Island. Men & Women against Domestic Violence which was established on May 27, 2006 with the assistance of Brooklyn District Attorney Charles J. Hynes, Rev. Terry Lee of By-Ways & Hedges Youth for Christ Ministries Church an Community Concern Network to help combat domestic violence that is hurting men, women and children of ever nationality. Men & Women against Domestic Violence wants you to join us as we will host for the first time the Domestic Violence Prevention Banquet & Award Ceremony of Global Satellite Television Network for the first time in Queens on Saturday August 26, 2006 at the Adria Hotel & Conference Center located at 220-30 Northern BLVD. An estimated range of 960,000 incidents of domestic violence against a current or former spouse, boyfriend or girlfriend per year, to three million women has been physically abused my there husband or boyfriend per year. Around the world, three million women have been beaten, coerced into illegally behavior or otherwise abused during their lifetime. The problem of Domestic violence is getting worse; it’s now affecting our children. Let us come together and organize concert and other events our theme is “Unity Is Strength” say NO to Domestic Violence in our society. We promote domestic violence awareness at festival, parties, and other event, with the Assistance of The Mayors office to Combat Domestic Violence, The Brooklyn District Attorney Office, and The Brooklyn Family Justice Center. We distribute literature of where people can get help, and what to do if they are a victim of domestic violence. At each of our event, we select a keynote speaker to educate our community on issues pertaining to Domestic Violence as well as honor mothers who are victims who never get honored. We will honor her at the Adria Hotel on August 26, 2006. Shermel Andrews was born 7/21/1980. School Safety Agent Corinthians Andrews of Middle College High School at Medgar Evers just received her BA in Science from Saint Joseph College in Brooklyn. Joining me to honor School Safety Agent Corinthians Andrews of Middle College High School at Medgar Evers is LT. Davis of Medgar Evers College Public Safety along with Avon.
